Exhaust Systems Protection

Exhaust System of Dual Fuel & Gas  Engines

HOERBIGER supplies Explosion Relief valves to protect exhaust system including sensitive components from devastating effects of gas and dust explosions. Together with core engine manufacturers, we have developed appropriate safety systems that are still setting standards today.

Independent of the industry, whether on Marine, Power Generation or Land-based energy applications, we are prepared to offer an appropriate, certified solution.

Marine application

Engines running on “low flash point” fuels pose a potential explosion risk in the exhaust system, which is even more critical due to the integration of sensitive exhaust duct components such as mixing tubes, SCR systems, heat exchangers and silencers.

Taking into account the highest possible system availability and operational safety, a flameless and re-closable pressure relief device is essential.

HOERBIGER Relief valve series EVM is a reusable, flameless venting device, protecting personnel and equipment. The EVM thus represent the ideal solution for use in enclosed spaces.

Onshore application

Engines running on “low flash point” fuels pose a potential explosion risk in the exhaust system, which is even more critical due to the integration of sensitive exhaust duct components such as mixing tubes, SCR systems, heat exchangers and silencers.

In stationary power generation plants, where exhaust gas lines are mainly routed outdoors, classic bursting discs are predominantly used.

HOERBIGER GE-HT series burst panels are highly dynamic-, heat-insulated-, multi-layer burst panels designed specifically for high-temperature applications.
